I have only used my machine. Couple of times prior to my TKR, to get familiar with it. I love the compression feature. The large knee sleeve is nice because it covers my entire knee. I also like the feel of the sleeve. I think it’s neoprene. I used small frozen water bottles in it and it got really cold. I would give it a 9 out of 10 only because there is not a timer. I would love for it to come on every 20 mins and go off for 20 like some of the other machines I reviewed. I compromised to get the compression. I do love it!
This icing and compression machine has gotten me through the first few weeks of my meniscus root repair surgery. It has been running probably 75% of my waking hours and has been chugging along very smoothly. I love the compression combined with the icing. It’s very easy to swap the ice — we are using small water bottles that are frozen. I’m very happy with the purchase and the price point. It’s a perfect alternative to the game ready ice/compression machine which is thousands of dollars.
We purchased the Breg Wave with Knee Pad for my wife’s total knee replacement surgery rehab. Very easy to operate right out of the box. This unit has been a lifesaver with respect to cooling efficiency and with ease. We used 12 oz bottled spring water, 4 at a time rather than ice cubes. The physical therapist was very impressed how good her knee looked, swelling-wise, 2 and 4 days after surgery. Icing routine was 20 minutes every hour.
I have a total knee replacement and I’m in the beginning of the recovery process. Cold feels really great and it reduces swelling caused by the surgery and subsequent PT exercise. The cool therapy wave is really easy to set up and to use. It is really effective.
3 days out from total knee replacement. The cold therapy plus compression is just fantastic. Swelling is almost non existent. The cold helps reduce pain quite a bit.
